Verint Partners with FoodBank Queensland

Verint Team November 24, 2020

Verint APAC is excited to announce a community partnership with Queensland’s largest and most trusted hunger relief charity, Foodbank Queensland.

Every year, Foodbank Queensland sources over 14 million kilograms of essential groceries and provides more than 25 million meals to Queenslanders suffering from hunger. Sadly, demand for food relief is higher than ever recorded in Foodbank Queensland’s 25-year history, with one third of Queenslanders facing a hunger crisis having never gone hungry before the pandemic.

Perhaps one of the most shocking figures is how little it takes to help. Every $1 donated to Foodbank Queensland can be turned into two nutritious meals for a Queenslander suffering from hunger.

Verint APAC is honoured to partner with Foodbank Queensland and work with them to help make sure no one in Queensland goes without!

Over the coming weeks, volunteers from Verint’s Brisbane staff will be donating their time to help Foodbank Queensland sort and prepare food items for distribution in the lead up to the busy Christmas period. This festive season at the end of a tumultuous year is expected to see a huge demand on Foodbank’s services and its great that we can help out and lend a hand or two.

FoodBank Queensland

Foodbank Queensland supports Queenslanders in crisis by rescuing and sourcing more than 14 million kilograms of food and groceries from farmers, manufacturers, and retailers each year. This food is then distributed through a network of more than 250 Queensland front-line charities across the state to feed more than 200,000 Queenslanders in crisis each month. Foodbank Queensland also runs a Schools Breakfast Program. Delivered in over 300 schools, this program feeds more than 29,000 children every week.
